Prior to initating a project, researchers are encouraged to consult with Dr. Lee if they have any questions regarding the choice of the vector system or the acquisition of DNAs containing genes of interest. All projects begin by the completion of the online vector request form. There are two routes to having your virus made: A. If you already have a plasmid which is capable of producing virus upon transfection, you may directly submit the plasmid to the Virus Production Facility (Dr. Lee).B. If you have a gene that you want put into a viral vector, the DNA Construction Facility would introduce your gene of interest to the desired vector backbone. This new plasmid would then be transferred to our Virus Production Facility. Some of the text items at the left include a link, which you can use to get more information about each of the steps in the process. To initiate a project, select Initiate Project. To request plasmids or viruses, select the appropriate Dispensation links. |
