| The Gateway cloning system enables rapid shuttling of DNA fragments between different plasmids. The process uses site specific recombinases, which offer greater specificity and reliability than conventional restriction digestion and ligation methods.
If you have a large number of DNA fragments which you would like to put into viral vectors, this system can save considerable time and effort. Also, there are approximately 35,000 human gene cDNA clones available as gateway plasmids from ResGen (www.resgen.com), and more are being made. Contact us if you would like to search their repository for a cDNA.
In our plasmid repository table, you can see which vectors are available as Gateway destination vectors. 'F' and 'R' denote the forward and reverse orientations of the Gateway cassette, which will enable sense and antisense plasmid construction, respectively. |
